What Do Canadian Consumers Think about Sponsorship:
The Consumer Sponsorship Rankings 2011
The Consumer Sponsorship Rankings (CSR) study complements the Canadian Sponsorship Landscape Study (CSLS). The CSLS, presented by SMCC and Canadian Sponsorship Forum, provides information and data critical to our industry's growth by polling buyers, sellers and agencies involved in sponsorship. But as buyers and sellers of sponsorship, we also want to know what consumers think. The CSR polled the average Canadian consumer. It talked to the people who buy the goods from the brands who sponsor. It talked to the Canadians who attend the events and activities and use the programs that are sponsored. This national study lets us all know what Canadian consumers think about sponsors and who they see as the biggest and best. It also tells us what Canadian consumers think about the events that make Canada's landscape. The session will deliver an overview of the results and outcomes of this subscription-based research and give attendees a general high-level understanding of what Canadians are thinking.

With limited resources and increased responsibilities, time is a sponsor's most coveted asset. Properties are frustrated and want more face-time with potential sponsors they want the opportunity to learn more about the sponsor's brand goals and business objectives in order to build a customized proposal. Sponsors are overwhelmed with calls, emails and unsolicited proposals from properties looking for sponsorship dollars. How does the property break-through the clutter and how does the sponsor decide who to invest the time with? Social Media: Measure ROI - Not Friends, Fans, ReTweets ...
Thursday, March 25, 2010
Location: Hot Stove Club, Air Canada Centre, 40 Bay Street, Gate 2, Toronto
Presented By: Tim Bishop, IMI International
In recent years, social media has grown from a provocative set of online community chat rooms to a legitimate marketing communication vehicle that attracts millions of diverse users from around the world. What is a marketer to do: Avoid it until it becomes more proven since this all seems too "new" and "risky"? Or jump into it without a good understanding of how it compares to other marketing tools? The safe bet is to understand its measurable impact. IMI International has been studying social media from its inception using ROI measurement models to evaluate it compared to all other marketing tactics. Tim will highlight how to measure impact and ROI, plus share consumer insights, best practices and global case studies so that social media can be considered as an effective tool within your sponsorship activation toolkit.
